Women’s Basketball

Mondays 7:00pm – 9:00pm

Each week we host a Women’s Basketball Open Gym/Pick Up Game night for women in the Garner community!

Want to play? Lace up those shoes and join us on Mondays from 7-8:30 pm in the Family Life Center for shoot around and pick-up games.

Pickleball

Tuesdays, 7:00pm – 9:00pm

Pickleball is a fun paddle sport that combines parts of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong using a paddle and plastic ball with holes. The game is appropriate for players of all ages and skill levels. The rules for pickleball are pretty simple, making it a great family sport. It can also be quite the challenging, fast-paced, and competitive game when people become more experienced at playing.

Open gym night in the Family Life Center for pickleball players of all ages. Two full courts allow participants to rotate into games throughout the night!

Stretch & Strength Classes

Wednesdays, 10:30am – 12:30pm

Do you need to improve your overall flexibility, mobility, and strength, making everyday activities like bending, twisting, and lifting easier and less painful? Join our one of our two FREE community stretch and strength classes every WEDNESDAY MORNING and discover the benefits of controlled, slow-paced movements.

10:30AM – On the floor with a mat

11:30am – In a chair for those with limited mobility.

•  Our class focuses on static stretches, holding each pose for at least 30 seconds, allowing you to:
•  Enhance flexibility and range of motion
•  Reduce muscle soreness and fatigue
•  Improve posture and balance
•  Support injury prevention and recovery
•  Build community through the love of Jesus Christ.

The class caters to all ages and individuals of all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners.

Each session will include:
•  A series of carefully selected stretches targeting major muscle groups, including lower back, hips, shoulders, hamstrings, quadriceps, calves, and hip flexors
•  Guidance on proper alignment, breathing, and relaxation techniques to maximize the effectiveness of each stretch
•  A calming and peaceful atmosphere that wraps up with a devotional on God’s love in our lives. Aisha Bakkar teaches s at church every Wednesday. These classes are open to anyone and are free. Participants will need to bring their own mats.

Open Gym Nights

Yes! We are willing to open the gym for many special gatherings, and we have the ping pong tables and volleyball nets to prove it! Just let us know what you’d like to set up. We will work with you to create lots of fun! Contact the church office at churchoffice@saintandrewsumc.org!
